The sign on the marquee claims that the food served at Mars is out of this world. “Actually, it couldn’t be more down-to-earth.” Opened in 1951, this long and narrow luncheonette has been operated by the Tseclars family since the mid-80s. Except for the attempt to bring the break -fast décor up to date- they`ve squooshed the ceiling- Mars remains as it was In the 50s. Vinyl stools line the chrome lunch counter tables and booths, for two marches down the opposite wall.
